Restarts glory journey: In 2016, Kaisa Group, the company developed in Shenzhen area, complying with the development trend of football market, made a heavy capital investment in Shenzhen professional football to hold up its flag. Shenzhen FC will follow the latest football developing direction, recruit players and reform management in order to help the team blow the horn to reclimb the peak, and enter a new era.
In 2011, 'White Witchdoctor' Troussier wasappinted as chief coach. The team signed Takashi Rakuyama and Seiichiro Maki, the first two Japanese players in Chinese football league. Because of the Universiade, Shenzhen team had to play most home games in Boluo Sports Center located in Huizhou city. Therefore, the team often moved between Huizhou and Shenzhen, contributing relegation.
In 2012, as a result of huge change of team squad, Shenzhen team ranked 7th and failed to return to CSL.
In 2013, Shenzhen team did well during home games (11W/2D/2L), and finally ranked 5th. Babacar, the striker from Senegal, won the golden boot for the second year in a row. After the season, former Chinese national team forward and captain of Shenzhen team, Li Yi, became the temporary head coach.
In 2014, under the leadership of Li Yi, Shenzhen team struggled against difficulty and ranked 8th.
In 2015, Li Yi、Lee Lim-saeng、Li Haiqiangbecame the head coach respectively. Although the team suffered difficulty, they still ranked 12th, and stayed in CSL.
In 2006, the team was sponsored and named by Jinwei Beer. Wang Banshan was appointed as head coach and began using talented young players. The team ranked 11th at the end of the season.
In 2007, the team was sponsored and named by Xiangxue Shangqingyin, ranking 14th and staying in CSL.
In 2008, the team was managed by Shenzhen Football Association and stayed in CSL. After the season, the team moved from Bijia Mountain Base, the training ground used since the establish of the club, for the reason of 2011 Universiade.
In 2009, Red Diamond held the Shenzhen FC. The team kept unbeaten in the last 10 rounds and stayed up.
In 2010, Sinisa Gogic, who ever managed Belgrade Red Star FK, became the head coach of Shenzhen team which was sponsored and named Shenzhen Moutai Red Diamond team. At the end of the season, the team ranked 12th.
In 2002, Shenzhen team won the second runner-up of the league, which was the best rank in Class A period. In December, Jianlibao Group succeeded in the buyout of the club.
In 2003, the club changed its name as Shenzhen Jianlibao Football Club. The team, owning Li Weifeng, Li Yi, Yang Chen, Zheng Zhi, Zheng Bin, had most Chinese national team players, called “Real Jianlibao”by supporters.
In 2004, Shenzhen team won the first top-tier champion, which was also the first top-tier champion from Guangdong Province.
In 2005, Zhu Guanghu left Shenzhen and was hired as Chinese national team head coach, which caused that players left the club; under very tough situation, the team revealed strong spirit and won the second runner-up in AFC Champions League, which achieved a miracle.
In 1994,Shenzhen Football Club was formally established under the leadership by China football legend RongZhihang;The team won the championship of China League 2 that year and was promoted to Class B League.
In 1995, The team won the championship of Class B League and was promoted to Class A League, completing the “triple jump at Shenzhen speed”.
In 1996, the team, sponsored by FLYTA, participated in Class A League. Because of the lack of quality and experience, the team ranked 11th and was delegated to Class B League.
In 1997, Ping-An Insurance Group took full control of Shenzhen FC and named the club Shenzhen Ping-An FC. The team won the runner-up of Class B League and was promoted to Class A again.
In 1998, the club hired South Korea football legend Cha Bum-Kun as the first foreign chief coach. By the end of the year, the club succeeded in the buyout of Huochetou football team, acceopting 16 potential young players, including Li Weifeng, the former captain of Chinese national team.
In 1999, Shenzhen team ranked 12th in Class A League and stayed up in the last round.
In 2000, Chinese coach Zhu Guanghu, replacing the Brazilian coach Tabarez, was appointed as chief coach. Shenzhen Team ranked 9th that year.
In 2001, under the leadership of Zhu Guanghu, Shenzhen team ranked 5th.
